Following a two-day auction, Tivo has now acquired one of their competitors, IPTV solutions provider MobiTV.
The company’s bid beat that of Amino Technologies and Roku, which placed a joint bid. Based in Emeryville, California, MobiTV provides video distribution technology to pay TV operators, such as cable companies. After going bankrupt two months ago, T-Mobile, one of their customers, gave them $15.5 million so they could stay afloat.
Tivo’s Los Angeles-based parent company Xperi has not yet commented on this.
