‘Scream 5’ Filming Continuing Despite Positive COVID Tests

By George Robbins
Filming at this period in time is something that many people are wary of but they understand that they need to do it to get paid as it is a part of their job. Just recently, many productions have started back up again after having been shut down since earlier this year. This doesn’t mean that there aren’t any hiccups going into this though as there are clearly rules in place in order to keep people from spreading disease. This is what director James Cameron had to do when he wanted to start filming ‘Avatar 2.’ Every part of his production crew had to be quarantined and tested before they could even begin the filming process.
Even though it took some time for the filming process to begin, Cameron worked hard to get the film done properly, and as of now, the filming process is complete. Many other films are trying to follow in those footsteps now so that they can be finished for showings they may not even have next year. Truth be told, it is still pretty much unknown what will happen in the near future and we don’t know if movies will even be able to play when the time comes. With movie theaters not doing so well, movie releases have been pushed again which I’m sure will only end up pushing these dates as well.
It is surprising that the people responsible for filming the upcoming newest entry to the ‘Scream‘ series, ‘Scream 5,’ wouldn’t just take things a bit slower. They have had 3 people recently test positive for the virus and yet they still plan to continue the filming process the same way they were going to do it. This seems dangerous and it seems like if it is not handled properly, it could result in the film having a horrifically long production process. In the long run this could only end up hurting the production, so who knows what the studio is thinking about when they made this decision. The best way of handling these things is still just to test all members of the crew, so there is no telling what affect this will have.
