New Take On Revenge- Promising Young Woman

Promising Young Woman

Promising Young Woman tells the story of a woman named Cassie whom everyone thought was a young woman with a promising life ahead of her until a mysterious event abruptly derailed her future. Suspiciously unambitious, Cassie (Carey Mulligan) leads a quiet existence as a barista who lives in her parents’ house since dropping out of medical school. She and her friendly boss, Gail (Laverne Cox), gab away days at the cafe.

She is wickedly smart, tantalizingly cunning, and she’s living a secret double life by night. Something that no one in her life is aware of in the slightest. Men who cross her path are in serious danger, as beautiful and brutal Cassie seeks to heal from past trauma by doling out scathing lessons. When Ryan (Bo Burnham), a former classmate, re-enters her life, so does the possibility of healing—until new details about the death of her best friend infuriate Cassie and inspire her most potent confrontation yet. Which is about to give Cassie a chance to right the wrongs of the past.

Promising Young Woman is directed and written by Emerald Fennell (Killing Eve). The movie stars stars Carey Mulligan, Laverne Cox, and Bo Burnham along with an ensemble cast that includes Alison Brie, Connie Britton, Jennifer Coolidge, Max Greenfield, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Chris Lowell, Sam Richardson, Molly Shannon, and Clancy Brown. Fennell produced along with Margot Robbie, Tom Ackerley, and Josey McNamara for LuckyChap Entertainment and Ben Browning and Ashley Fox for FilmNation Entertainment. The movie releases to theaters on April 17, 2020.
