John David Washington Wants to Play Reed Richards in the MCU

By George Robbins

The Marvel Cinematic Universe, or MCU, is now by far one of the largest and most profound franchises in existence. It is well known by just about everyone all over the world and it has touched base with just about every community in some way shape or form. This has made it incredibly easy for Marvel Studios to integrate almost any idea they want into their movie adaptations. This is why the Marvel films are not exactly portrayed the way they are in comics, but they still end up turning out pretty well. It is because they have adapted the comics to the medium in a well-developed and well-structured way to allow people to adjust correctly.

Creative liberties can be taken when approaching these films and plenty of different story arcs can take place due to the work that has already been put in. This all stems from the fact that the MCU has been established as its own parallel universe from the Earth-616 universe that the comics take place in. This pretty much means that they can do whatever they want within the means they established for themselves when they made the MCU. This comes in handy now, because when they want to cast someone for a role or make some kind of plot-line, they have some sort of baseline to do it with. Therefore, actors have a lot of leeway with their entry points into the MCU.

John David Washington is an actor who has been making his way up the chain over the past few years to the point that he was the main star in Christopher Nolan’s movie ‘Tenet.’ Although the movie itself is having a terrible time due to the lack of funds being brought in by the box office, Washington is noted has having played the part well. This gives him a chance to put himself out there to be a part of the MCU and the character he wants to play is not one most would expect. He wants to play the role of Reed Richards, Mr. Fantastic, whenever they finally decide to add him to the MCU with the Fantastic 4. Needless to say it would definitely be an interesting casting choice, but as we all know, the MCU gives its roles out based on whose best for the job.
