Dream Horse- A True Story

‘Dream Horse’ is another in a line of movies about underdogs that must rise up to win it all. However, just because a premise is similar doesn’t mean that the story is at all. The thing about true stories is that the stories are true to at least some extent and have actually happened. So, we can’t blame them if they are similar to other stories, because to some degree, they actually happened. This movie has story elements that are sure to differentiate it from other true stories and we will go through what we know.

Not too long ago, ‘Dream Horse’ had its premiere at Sundance Film Festival. The story of which, is that of Dream Alliance, an unlikely race horse bred by small town Welsh bartender, Jan Vokes. The idea behind the horse is that a group of people put together money in order to breed a race horse that would make them the money they were all looking for. The group’s investment pays off as Dream rises through the ranks with grit and determination and goes on to race in the Welsh Grand National showing the heart of a true champion.
