The 2019 animated film, The Addams Family, is making its way out onto Blu-ray, DVD, and digital formats. The Addams Family is the first full-length animated film to feature the eccentric and unconventional family. The full releases of the films showcase the weird, yet wonderful world of the Addams’. In its first big weekend as a theatrical release, 1917 has managed to be at the top as the highest grossing film of the weekend by grossing $37 million.
2. Star Wars: Episode IX- The Rise of Skywalker
In its fourth week, Rise of Skywalker has managed to stay near the top of the box office this past weekend, but earned less than previously at $15.2 million, bringing the gross amount to $478.3 million.
3. Jumanji: The Next Level
After its fifth week after its theatrical release, Jumanji: The Next Level has made $14 million, putting its gross at $257.1 million.
4. Like a Boss
Like a Boss had ended up grossing a total of $10 million on its opening weekend making that its total gross amount at the moment.
5. Just Mercy
On its third weekend since release, Just Mercy has made $9.7 million, bringing its gross amount to $10.1 million.
6. Little Women
Little Women brought in $7.8 million on its third weekend, which now puts its gross amount at $74.2 million.
7. Underwater
This was Underwater’s opening weekend and it ended up grossing a total of $7 million.
8. Frozen II
In its eighth week since release, Frozen II has managed to bring in another $5.9 million, and this now brings its gross amount to $459.5 million.
9. Knives Out
After the seventh weekend since its release, Knives Out has brought in $5.6 million, bringing its gross amount up to $139.5 million.
10. Spies in Disguise
Following its third weekend since release, Spies in Disguise brought in $5.2 million, and this brought its gross amount to $54.7 million.
Downhill is an upcoming comedy/drama film from directors Nat Faxon and Jim Rash. Both of whom worked on movies, The Descendants and The Way Way Back. The studio is happy to have the two of them on board for yet another film. It was written by Jesse Armstrong, who has written for film, Four Lions and series, Fresh Meat. The film’s producers are Louis-Dreyfus, Likely Story’s Anthony Bregman and Stefanie Azpiazu (PRIVATE LIFE, ENOUGH SAID), with Ruben Östlund (FORCE MAJEURE) and Erik Hemmendorff (THE SQUARE) serving as executive producers. The movie stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus (ENOUGH SAID), Will Ferrell (DADDY’S HOME TWO), Miranda Otto (CHILLING ADVENTURES OF SABRINA), Zach Woods (SILICON VALLEY), Zoë Chao (STRANGERS), Julian Grey (GODLESS), Ammon Jacob Ford (SEAL TEAM) and Kristofer Hivju (GAME OF THRONES).
This movie sees a married couple reevaluating their lives after having barely survived an avalanche while on a family skiing trip to the Alps. They not only reevaluate their lives, but also decide to reevaluate their marriage. The film is an adaptation of the 2014 Golden Globe nominated Swedish film Force Majeure. Producer Anthony Bregman has said “Downhill is a tale of bad judgement and moral weakness, so how fitting that Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Will Ferrell embody those values. Nat Faxon and Jim Rash, of course, are more than qualified to capture the fallout.” For those who wish to see the train-wreck, the film will be officially released to theaters on February 14, 2020.
Black Widow goes back in time a bit in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to show Black Widow’s journey after Civil War. The choice to go back to just after Civil War was made in order to showcase the decisions she made while on the run. With nowhere left to run to, she is forced to return home and confront the past she left behind. With no one else to help her, she goes back to the people she left behind. The question is, can she get along with her old family as well as she has with her new one.
The movie, of course, stars Scarlett Johansson, but also stars Florence Pugh, Rachel Weisz, David Harbour, O-T Fagbenle, William Hurt, and Robert Downey Jr. in his role as Iron Man/Tony Stark. The movie is being directed by Cate Shortland and produced by Kevin Feige. The story was written by Jac Schaeffer and Ned Benson, and the screenplay was done by Eric Pearson who had written the screenplay for Thor: Ragnarok. Black Widow is meant to be a film that will illustrate just how competent the titular character is on her own. It is certainly a film to look forward to.
Personally, I am looking forward to watching this film, mostly as just a Marvel fan, but also to see her have her own story. She has been a part of other heroes’ stories for years now. Finally, we get to see it all revolve around just her this time around. While it may just be a glimpse into the past for the character, it still gives us an interesting story to watch. For anyone who likes the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this is more story lore that you can feast your eyeballs on and that alone is worth it. The film releases officially to theaters on May 1, 2020.
Fantasy Island is a Blumhouse Horror/Thriller that starts with a relatively innocent premise. The enigmatic Mr. Roarke makes the secret dreams of his lucky guests come true at a luxurious but remote tropical resort. The fantasies are not meant to last however, because of course they aren’t. Eventually, the fantasies will turn into nothing nightmares for those who are staying at the resort. Guests at the resort will have no choice but to solve the island’s mystery in order to survive.

Fantasy Island releases in theaters to the public on February 14, 2020.
The well received sports drama Ford v Ferrari is set to be released on Blu-Ray/DVD. It managed to gross about 100 million dollars in its run in theaters. The movie, for those who don’t know, sees two men designing and creating a car for the Ford Motor Co. to compete against Ferrari race cars. The result of such an ordeal creating ripples for the years to follow. For those who haven’t seen it or those who want to own it to watch forever, it will officially release on Tuesday, February 11, 2020.
