This film review for the movie Shutter Island will discuss the nature of the film and will have possible spoilers. To start off, the film opens with the audience thinking it’s a mystery film. Throughout the movie, however, things start to unravel. As we move through the film, the main character seems to be unraveling a possible conspiracy. This is all a ruse and it all comes together perfectly in the end.
First off, the character starts to notice strange things happening around him, like the world isn’t right. Next, we see what would suggest a cover-up by the doctors of the facility. People in the film also seem to be wary of the main protagonist as time goes on. Therefore, it would also appear that everyone is in on whatever is happening there. Seeing things from the main characters perspective makes us feel the same way he does. Eventually, we see things completely unravel and the truth comes out.

This is where the massive spoilers really come into play. By the end of the film, we learn the truth about the titular Shutter Island and the main character. It turns out that he was actually a patient on the island the whole time and it has all been a role play to try and get him to come out of his imagination. This film review for ‘Around the World in 80 Days’ is one that goes into just how fun the film is. Following the opening of the film we are introduced to our main characters and how they meet. This event kicks off a wild globe-trotting journey. Following an invention going off the rails, the institute of sciences bets him he can’t circumnavigate the globe in 80 days. Thus, he sets out with his new assistant to do just that. The movie is for kids, and it shows, but so what.
First, I’d like to say that the film plays out well, even if it isn’t what was expected. Second the cast of the film makes it an entertaining film overall. There are visual gags as well as vocal ones, and they are relatively smart. Next, the plot is full of conflict because the bet becomes known worldwide. This, plus a stolen Chinese statue, causes a lot of conflict between the main characters and their enemies. Honestly, I can say that the plot itself makes some sort of sense and is just fun to watch.

While this film is made mostly for children, anyone can have fun with it. I can honestly put this film on right now and be entertained by it yet again. There is of course issues with it like rushing through or sudden plot development. Regardless of that, I can still have fun watching it over and over and I feel most other people would too. I would definitely recommend someone watch it at least once in their life.

This film review for Dances with Wolves will go into how entertaining this epic tale is. For example, the film itself is almost four hours long on its own. That, in and of itself, shows that it deserves the title of epic. The film spends all of that time wisely though with world building and character development. While there are bound to be slow parts of the film, a large majority of the film is just plain entertaining. This film is full of conflict that keeps it entertaining throughout.
Firstly, the film introduces us to the main character who is not afraid to put his life on the line. He tries to commit suicide by running up to his enemies, but ends up a war hero. Next, he gets an assignment he has always wanted out on the Western Frontier. Soon he discovers that he is all alone out at his post as the person who dropped him off is killed on his way back to civilization. What follows is a good few hours of his narrating his harsh life on the frontier which is highlighted by his encounters with a Sioux tribe.

Eventually, he becomes a member of the tribe and even receives his own name, “Dances with Wolves,” because he befriended a lone wolf. The movie itself is full of moments that see the main character develop even more. Becoming a member of the tribe and leaving his old life behind is steadily worked towards. The viewer can feel a sense of accomplishment on his behalf as a result. Everything that has been seen was worth showing, and most of it just keeps you entertained. Hopefully this film review for Dances with Wolves makes you a bit interested in the film.

This film review for the movie Midway is written to discuss the accurate portrayal of combat. Therefore, there may be spoilers ahead. Midway was a decisive battle for both sides during the war. Thus, Midway became a pivotal battle that ultimately helped us keep a foothold in the Pacific. The film doesn’t pander to the US audience either. The combat in the film is kept realistic and doesn’t have America flat out winning the fight.
First, the battles depicted throughout the film show just how overwhelmed the U.S. Navy was during the start of the war. Next, we see that a lot of our attacks actually failed to do lasting damage most of the time. We get to see how well the Japanese officers fought on their side and planned ahead. Regardless of what side they were on the people involved gave it their all and that really comes off of the screen. The film itself is very accurate historically to how difficult of a battle it was, even for Japan who had the advantage.

This film is an excellently well made film in every respect. Additionally, the film is made not only for US veterans, but Japanese veterans as well and the filmmakers definitely show that. I went into the film not knowing what to expect when it came to this movie. I of course thought I was going to see just another WWII movie, but it was more than that. The viewer gets to see the grueling difficulties endured from the start of the war up to Midway itself. I highly recommend you go see it if you can.

This film review for Kingsman: The Secret Service is here just to say how good the film is. The movie’s plot, cast, and characters are all excellently well done. Therefore, I feel that this movie simply deserves credit. Following the opening of the film we are introduced to the main character, and we start following him in his everyday life. Throughout the movie, we mostly see things from his perspective as a new spy recruit.
The main villain of the film is insane but charismatic and because of that he draws in other characters. Thus, it is easy to see how he managed to get so many people on his side. The film itself even makes some fourth wall breaking comments all throughout, blatantly saying what kind of film it is. The plot itself is one about spies saving the world, but it is also an origin story. Therefore, the main focus of the film jumps between spy training as well as the mission at hand, and they eventually culminate together.

There are plenty of incredible moments found throughout the entire film. The movie showcases the ingenuity of all of the characters in it, and shows how far street smarts can get you. Following the end of the film, you just feel satisfied because it is straight up entertaining. This film review for Kingsman: The Secret Service is just meant to make you want to watch it in some capacity. I’m hoping that after reading this you go and watch the film.

This film review for The Prestige is all about how this film is a completely subversive film. There are plenty of twists and turns throughout the film, and they all make the film even more interesting. This film sees a rivalry form between two street magicians vying for peoples’ attention. Therefore, much of the film is filled with the magicians trying out different tactics to get people interested in them. As time goes on, they just keep getting more and more elaborate until it costs each of them too much.
The film starts off simply enough with two street magicians trying to outperform one another, and trying to become famous. As time goes on, they plot against one another more and more to try and out do the other. This causes all sorts of problems to arise in their personal lives and makes them unable to see past the competition. Following a series of serious life events, the magicians themselves each find acts that suit them, but try to figure out how the other does it. This is what ultimately causes there to be twists in the film.
In Conclusion for this film review of The Prestige
By the end of the film, we the viewers are left in suspense as we have no idea just what is happening. The characters are in situations that we wonder how they got themselves into them. All of our questions are answered by the end of the film, however. Following a couple of shocking reveals, the feud ends, and we can feel a little relieved but also upset at such a series of events. As I said, this film review for The Prestige is one discussing the subversiveness of the film. If you really want to know why it is subversive, then go watch it.
