There were many people who did not expect the live action version of the Aladdin movie to do well. ‘Aladdin’ actually did well enough that a script is currently being penned for the sequel which is currently in the works. The story for this sequel is wholly original, and it is not based off of any of the original animated sequels. ‘Aladdin’ managed to gross $1 billion worldwide after its 2019 theatrical release.
Having been directed by Guy Ritchie and having starred Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Jasmine, and Will Smith as Genie, the movie became a success. Since then, people have been expecting Disney to give some sort of information about a sequel and now we have something. Disney decided that the sequel would have to be entirely new and original since the ending of the live action version is different from the original animation. As such, the sequel will take some time before it releases in a proper capacity.
According to a report by Variety, Disney has hired John Gatins (Flight) and Andrea Berloff (Straight Outta Compton) to write the script for Aladdin 2. This does not guarantee that the film will have any of the same returning cast, however. The studio doesn’t want to start making any deals until the script is complete and the studio is happy with it all. Guy Ritchie is set to return as the director, but it could still be awhile before any news comes forward regarding what else is going on with the film.
‘A Quiet Place Part II’ is a direct pick-up sequel to the first film which sees the Abbott family’s continued fight for survival. The family must face horrors that they never had to face in their home before. In the outside world, there are horrors that they have never had to deal with before. With a young child, they must contend with an outside world that wants to see them dead even more than the aliens do.
Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path. In a world that can no longer be considered safe, they must commit their all to survival. In silence, they must do what it takes in order to survive what lies at the end of the road leading to the outside world.
‘A Quiet Place Part II’ stars Emily Blunt, Cillian Murphy, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe, and Djimon Hounsou. Just like the first film, John Krasinski returns as the director for this film. John Krasinski also wrote the film with characters created by Bryan Woods & Scott Beck. Being produced by Michael Bay, John Krasinski, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller, ‘A Quiet Place II’ will release to theaters on March 20, 2020.
‘Antlers’ is an upcoming fantasy horror film that tells a thriller story that sees a small-town Oregon teacher (Keri Russell) and her brother, the local sheriff, discover that a young student is harboring a dangerous secret with frightening consequences. The boy is keeping a supernatural creature in his own home, with dangerous consequences. These consequences are what truly make the horror come alive.
The movie stars Keri Russell, Jesse Plemons, Jeremy T. Thomas, Graham Green, Scott Haze, Rory Cochrane, and Amy Madigan. ‘Antlers’ is directed by Scott Cooper who also directed Crazy Heart, Out of the Furnace, Black Mass and Hostiles. The movie is being produced by Guillermo del Toro, David S. Goyer, J. Miles Dale, and Kevin Turen.
‘Hunters’ is a drama that shows a group of people hunting down Nazis in 1970’s New York. Hunters follows a diverse band of Nazi hunters living in 1977 New York City. The titular ‘Hunters’ have discovered that hundreds of high-ranking Nazi officials are living among us and are conspiring to create a Fourth Reich in the United States. The eclectic team of Hunters will set out on a bloody quest to bring the Nazis to justice and thwart their new genocidal plans.
Stars of the show include Al Pacino, Logan Lerman, Jerrika Hinton, Josh Radnor, Kate Mulvany, Tiffany Boone, Greg Austin, Louis Ozawa, Carol Kane, Saul Rubinek, Dylan Baker and Lena Olin. ‘Hunters’ is produced by Amazon Studios, Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions and Sonar Entertainment. The show is executively produced by David Weil, who serves as co-showrunner, and Jordan Peele. Alfonso Gomez-Rejon directed the pilot and is an executive producer alongside Win Rosenfeld from Monkeypaw Productions; Nelson McCormick; David Ellender from Sonar Entertainment.
‘The Boy 2’ is a standalone sequel to the original film of the same name. This film sees a family moving into a residence with a haunting and terrifying past. They move into a guest house on the Heelshire estate where their young son soon makes an unsettling new friend, an eerily life-like doll he calls Brahms. This eerily human doll has quite a story behind it that can result in the deaths of those unaware.
‘Brahms: The Boy 2’ stars Katie Holmes, Christopher Convery, Owain Yeoman, and Ralph Ineson. The movie is directed by William Brent Bell who was also behind Stay Alive, The Devil Inside, Wer, and The Boy. With a screenplay by Stacey Menear, the movie is being produced by Tom Rosenberg, Eric Reid, Gary Lucchesi, and Richard Wright in addition to Matt Berenson, Jim Wedaa and Roy Lee. It will release to theaters on February 21, 2020.

The movie is directed by Craig Zobel who also directed the movie ‘Z for Zachariah.’ Produced by Damon Lindelof and Jason Blum, of Blumhouse Productions, this movie is based off of the book, ‘The Most Dangerous Game.’ This new thriller releases officially to theaters on March 13, 2020.
