‘Spies in Disguise’ tells the story of a suave spy and his not-so-suave scientist companion. The movie managed to make back it’s budget and then some during it’s theatrical release. Not only did the movie sell a lot of tickets, but it also managed to do well critically. For those who haven’t seen the movie, it sees the two main characters teaming up to save the world after the former spy is turned into a pigeon.
Now, for those who want to watch the movie again, or even for the first time, from the comfort of their own homes, the Blu-Ray/DVD version is releasing soon. Of course, this version also comes with a lot of bonus features to keep you entertained even after watching through the entire movie. The Blu-Ray edition includes “Super Secret Spy Mode,” an immersive, in-movie experience that takes you deeper into the story with Easter eggs, fun facts, and behind-the-scenes insights into the making of the film.
For those unaware, the movie stars Will Smith and Tom Holland in the leading roles. The movie was directed by Nick Bruno and Troy Quane, produced by Blue Sky Studios, and is distributed by 20th Century Fox. It will officially release on Blu-Ray/DVD to the public on March 10, 2020.
Plenty of films exist in order to exemplify moments where people maintain their faith through tragedy. This film is one that follows along with that idea heavily through the eyes of a man experiencing loss. The movie is a Christian biographical drama, so it shows how strong someone’s beliefs can be, especially at the worst places in their lives. Love and loss are two of the biggest factors when it comes to someone’s beliefs in something. This movie shows what could happen if both of these things happen to someone.
‘I Still Believe’ tells the story of singer-songwriter Jeremy Camp and his first wife, Melissa Lynn Henning-Camp. Melissa was diagnosed, just before they were married, with ovarian cancer. Sadly for the couple, she passed away not too much later, but this film is inspired by their story. The effects of the diagnosis on their love lives and their faith throughout the entire experience are what the movie focuses on. This journey of love and loss is one that shows that belief can help people get through the worst things they will ever experience.
The movie is directed by the Erwin Brothers, Andrew and Jon Erwin, who have directed movies such as ‘Woodlawn,’ ‘October Baby,’ ‘Moms’ Night Out,’ and ‘I Can Only Imagine.’ ‘I Still Believe’ stars KJ Apa, Britt Robertson, Shania Twain, Melissa Roxburgh, and Gary Sinise. The film was written by Jon Erwin, Jon Gunn, and Madeline Carrol, based off of the lives of Jeremy camp and his first wife, Melissa Lynn Henning-Camp. Produced by Bart Millard and Kevin Downes, the movie will release to theaters on March 13, 2020.
‘The Secret: Dare to Dream’ is based off of the self-help book of the same name. The original novel is based off of a film, which was actually more of a documentary. The premise of the original film is a look at the “law of attraction” which says that thoughts can change a person’s life directly. The book has sold 30 million copies worldwide and has been translated into 50 languages. Following the release of the book, people began living happier, more fulfilled lives.
This upcoming film isn’t just a redux of the original documentary, however, it has its own plot that tells its own original story. The movie revolves around Miranda Wells a hard-working young widow struggling to raise three children on her own. Suddenly, a powerful storm brings a mysterious man, Bray Johnson, into her life. This man’s presence re-ignites her family’s spirit within just a few days of his arrival. However, this may not last because he himself has some sort of secret.
‘The Secret: Dare to Dream’ is directed by Andy Tennant who also directed ‘The Bounty Hunter,’ ‘Hitch,’ and ‘Sweet Home Alabama.’ The adapted screenplay was also written by Tennant, as well as Bekah Brunstetter, and Rick Parks. The movie stars Katie Holmes, Josh Lucas, Jerry O’Connell, and Celia Weston. It is produced by the original author, Rhonda Byrne, as well as Robert Cort, Paul Hanson, Joe Gelchion, Matthew George and Robert Katz, and distributed by Roadside Attractions. The movie releases to theaters on April 17, 2020.
Charles Dickens was a literary genius who was widely regarded as the greatest novelist of the Victorian Era. His David Copperfield novel is widely considered to be his masterpiece amongst all of his works. It is also considered the turning point in his works from the novels of his youth to ones of maturity. The character, Copperfield, portrayed in the novel is believed to be based off of Dickens’ own life, so this story is one based off of his own story.
‘David Copperfield’ re-imagines Charles Dickens’ classic ode to grit and perseverance through the comedic lens of its award-winning filmmakers. This tale is one given life in a modern age, and shows the life of the character in a way we can better understand. The movie sees the life of David Copperfield from childhood to maturity, with his own adventures and the web of friends and enemies he meets along his way. Copperfield will show the life of a man in the Victorian Era and his growth as a person during the time period.
‘The Personal History of David Copperfield’ is directed by Armando Iannucci, known for ‘The Death of Stalin,’ ‘Veep,’ and ‘In the Loop.’ This movie’s screenplay is written by Simon Blackwell based directly off of the novel by Charles Dickens. Stars of the film include Dev Patel, Tilda Swinton, Hugh Laurie, Peter Capaldi, Aneurin Barnard, Morfydd Clark, Daisy May Cooper, Rosalind Eleazar, Ben Whishaw, and Paul Whitehouse. ‘The Personal History of David Copperfield’ will release to theaters in the United States on May 8th, 2020.
1. Sonic the Hedgehog– Sonic the Hedgehog managed to do well at the box office this past week, having brought in a gross amount of $57 million.
2. Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn– In it’s second week, Birds of Prey didn’t do nearly as well as the first week, having brought in $17.1 million for a total of $59.3 million.
3. Fantasy Island– Fantasy Island was among a few movies to be released this past weekend and it raked in a gross total of $12.4 million.
4. The Photograph– Following close behind in its first week is The Photograph with a gross total of $12.3 million.
5. Bad Boys for Life– Bad Boys for Life continues to bring money in with $11.3 million for a total of $181.3 million.
6. 1917– 1917 continues a streak having managed to make $8.1 million this past weekend for a total of $144.4 million.
7. Jumanji: The Next Level– Jumanji: The Next Level continues to sell seats and brought in $5.7 million for a total of $305.7 million.
8. Parasite– This past weekend saw the return of Parasite to theaters following its winning the Oscars Best Picture award, and it brought in $5.5 million for a total of $43.2 million.
9. Dolittle– Dolittle remains in theaters, having brought in $5.1 million for a total of $70.5 million.
10. Downhill– Downhill did not do a good job in its opening weekend, only having brought in $4.7 million as its total gross amount.
The ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ movie has had a lot of attention since it was first announced. Not much of that attention has really been on the good side of things, but it has certainly drawn attention to the movie. There is really no such thing as bad press in that respect. The film is set to make a decent amount of money when it premieres tonight, and it is set to perhaps do better than ‘Birds of Prey’ over the weekend. As a video game icon, and a source of controversy, the popular icon will make plenty of people want to watch the movie, even out of morbid curiosity.
I say morbid curiosity because I personally don’t believe that the movie will be all that great. Of course, the movie is not meant for me, but it will be interesting to see the reactions to the film. There are sure to be plenty of people who will go and see the movie just to see if it is any good. The controversy over how the character looked was good enough that many will want to see it to find out.
After such a delay because of the CGI effects, of course the hype for the film would be irregularly high. With a design that is much more fitting for the titular character, the movie looks more promising than it did initially. Just because it looks better doesn’t mean the plot is going to be all that incredible. Hopefully I am incorrect however, because according to some, the movie will end up grossing a fortune.
